Volunteer
Interpreters, navigators, wage-claim helpers, scam-awareness trainers, and people who simply call others back. Two hours a month makes a difference. Training provided; serve in your own language.

Professional volunteers
Attorneys, nurses, social workers, accountants, funeral professionals, IT and security professionals: an hour of your expertise saves a family a week.

How it works {#roles}
- Tell us about yourself — languages, skills, availability, where you are — through the volunteer page or by email.
- A short conversation with the volunteer coordinator to match you to a role.
- Training, in your language, mostly online, at your pace. Callers and interpreters can start within a week.
- Your first assignment with a more experienced volunteer alongside.
- Support throughout: a coordinator, a monthly call, and clear boundaries — you are never asked to give legal or medical advice, handle money, or take on a case alone.
What we ask of volunteers
- Confidentiality: what you learn about a household stays with the Foundation.
- Respect: every person is served with dignity, without judgment, without assumptions about status.
- Boundaries: navigators navigate, interpreters interpret; nobody promises outcomes.
- Reliability: two hours a month that actually happen beat ten that do not.
What volunteers receive
- Training and materials in three languages.
- A reference and a record of hours on request.
- The company of people who have lived the same story.
- Membership in Together and Stronger for active volunteers.
Students and groups
Students seeking service hours, faith groups, professional associations and employee volunteer groups are welcome; we scope projects that fit a semester or a day.
