Three steps. No paperwork to start. Tell us what is happening in your own words — in English, Spanish or French — and a real person takes it from there.

Tell us what is happening

Use the short request form, or email help@tas-foundation.org, or call. Say what you need and how to reach you. If it is urgent — a death, a shut-off, a court date, no food tonight — say so in the first line.

A real person calls or writes back

Within two business days a Foundation team member reviews your request, asks the questions that matter, and explains your options plainly. Emergencies are flagged and handled first, usually the same day.

We walk with you until it is solved

We connect you to the right program or partner, help with the steps, and follow up. If we cannot solve it, we tell you who can — and we make the introduction.

What to prepare

You need nothing to start. If you have them, these make the first call faster:

  • The notice, bill, message or amount involved (a photo is fine).
  • A way to reach you and the language you prefer.
  • What has changed — a job loss, an illness, a death, an accident, a scam.
  • What you have already tried or applied for, if anything.

What counts as urgent

  • Someone has died, here or back home.
  • A court date, a lock-out date or a shut-off date within days.
  • No food tonight, or no safe place to sleep.
  • An active scam where money can still be stopped.
  • A workplace injury or an immediate danger at work.
  • Any situation involving threats, confiscated documents or someone not free to leave.

Put URGENT in the subject line or the first line of the form.

What happens to what you tell us

Requests arrive through secured forms and are read only by the Foundation team. We keep what we need to help you and nothing more. We never sell or share your information for marketing, and we never share it with immigration authorities. When we refer you to a partner, we tell you what we are sharing and why. Privacy & confidentiality.

What we will never ask for

  • A fee. Help is free.
  • Immigration status.
  • A Social Security number, a bank login or a full card number.
  • Payment by gift card, transfer, crypto or cash.

Who can ask

Anyone with a foreign-born story — people born abroad, whatever their status, US citizens born abroad, the US-born children of foreign-born parents, and their families, relatives and friends. Members of Together and Stronger and non-members receive the same help. Associations can ask on behalf of a member.

If you are not in California

We serve requests from anywhere in the United States by connecting you to the right local programs and partners; some programs (the Hardship Fund, workshops, accompaniment) are concentrated where the family is based, and we tell you honestly what we can do where you are.

Languages

English, Spanish and French today. Interpreters help us serve other languages case by case — write in the language you are most comfortable in and we will find a way.

Request free help

Ask in any language — every request is read by a real person within 48 hours.
