Privacy & confidentiality
Trust is the whole basis of what we do. This page says plainly what we collect, why, who sees it, and what we will never do with it.
What we collect
- When you ask for help: your name, how to reach you, the language you prefer, and what you tell us about your situation — in your words. If a program requires documents (a notice, a bill, records), you choose what to send.
- When you give, volunteer or partner: your name, contact details, and what you tell us about your gift, skills or organisation.
- On this website: the site itself sets no tracking cookies of its own. Standard server logs record visits for security. If we add a visitor-analytics tool, it is limited to aggregate statistics and we say so here.
What we never collect
- Immigration status — ours or anyone's in your household.
- Social Security numbers, bank logins, full card numbers.
- Anything we do not need to help you.
Who sees it
Requests arrive through secured forms and are read only by the Foundation team and the volunteers assigned to your case, all of whom are bound by confidentiality. When we refer you to a partner, we tell you what we are sharing and why, and we share the minimum needed.
Who never sees it
- Immigration authorities.
- Marketers, list brokers, advertisers.
- Anyone claiming to act for you without your consent.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. If a lawful order ever required disclosure, we would seek legal advice and notify you where the law allows.
How long we keep it
Case information is kept while your case is active and for a limited period afterwards for follow-up, then deleted or anonymised. Donor and volunteer records are kept while the relationship is active and as required for accounting.
Your rights
- To know what we hold about you.
- To correct it.
- To ask us to delete it, subject to legal record-keeping duties.
- To ask us not to contact you again.

Forms and third parties
Our help, donation and volunteer forms are hosted by a forms provider under contract, and submissions are transmitted encrypted. The Together and Stronger family's other sites have their own privacy statements.
Children
We serve families, and children's information reaches us only through a parent or guardian.

When this page changes, the date below changes with it. Last updated 14 September 2026.
